ALBUM REVIEW: From the Can - Sheff G

Written by

Overall:

Well... to be honest... I had to force myself through this album, for the sake of the rest of YOU ALL. You can go listen for yourself if you'd like, but for the most part, this album sounds like a culmination of the type of music that has been playing on the radio these last few years. It's actually kind of funny how cliche this album sounds. Some sing-songy rap/r&b songs, mixed with some Pop Smoke type of songs, along with several bad attempts at making rap music. Dude is a horrible rapper.

Lyrics:

The lyrics on this album are horrible on the first listen (I will go back and listen again and adjust this if I'm wrong). It's like a high schooler that flunked English class wrote this stuff. Lyrically these songs are bad copies of what you have already heard on the radio these last few years. I actually never want to hear this dude rap again in my life, but I know I'm going to have to come back and review some more of his stuff for the sake of the rest of you, and I am not looking forward to it.

Production:

The beats on these songs are ok, but nothing really stands out. I'll have to go back and listen again just to be sure, but none of the songs on this album were added to any of my current playlists, just to give you some perspective.

Conclusion:

I definitely do NOT recommend even listening to this album as it will be a waste of your time, and deserves 1 out of 5 stars as it does not need to be added to your library.
